SMC RECRUITMENT : HIGH COURT Fixes next hearing on this day

Himachal High Court, While hearing the petition challenging the recruitment process of teachers through SMC, the court issued a notice to the government. In a petition challenging the SMC recruitment, the applicants have alleged that the state government is going to recruit teachers from SMC under the recently issued notification, it is legally wrong.


 The petitioners have argued that recruitments and promotion rules have been sidelined by recruitment of SMC teachers till date. The applicants have made a request to cancel the recently issued notification and issue instructions regarding non-implementation of the recruitment process.

While hearing the petition challenging the recruitment process of teachers through SMC, the court issued a notice to the government.

12th September 2018 :The High Court  asked the Education Secretary to appear again as there is no satisfactory response to the lack of teachers in government schools. The court said on Wednesday that the education secretary's affidavit is not in accordance with the previous order.


After hearing the Public Interest Litigation petition, the Bench of Acting Chief Justice Sanjay Karol and Justice Sandeep Sharma asked the Education Secretary what steps have been taken to fill the vacant posts of teachers in the education department.


Earlier, the court had asked the Education Secretary what steps are being taken to fill the vacant posts of teachers in government schools. If steps have been taken, then what stage has reached.

The Education Secretary had said in earlier affidavit that there is also a reason for the lack of teachers in the schools due to pending cases in the courts. On this, the court had also asked what the cases were, due to which the government was not able to fill the vacant posts in the schools.

The Health Department will recruit pharmacists batches in 190 positions. letters has been sent to the District Employment Department, Sirmaur for recruitment on behalf of the director of the department. District Employment Officer said that the department has sent the letters to candidates.

 He informed that for Pharmacists, 78 posts of General Batch from 1999 batch and 33 Posts UPTO 2005 batch will be filled of Scheduled Castes and 8 posts of Scheduled Castes (without any batch condition).

 Apart from this, 30 posts of OBC category of 2007 batch, 19 posts of the General category (IRDP) up to 2009 batch, 7 posts of the SC category (IRDP) till 2011 batch, filled without the condition of three post batch of the Scheduled Tribes (IRDP).

  Two posts of OBC (WFF)  7 posts of OBC (IRDP) till 2015 batch, will be filled without any condition of the batch. Employment Officer said that all the applicants, whose names are in the Employment Exchange, can contact about the posts by September 20.
